Welcome to Health and Behavioral Dimensions, Inc.
Health
and Behavioral Dimensions (HBD) is a nonprofit organization
that provides residential, habilitative and
behavioral services for children
and adults with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities,
and mental illness.
We currently are operating eight Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) licensed
Intensive Behavioral Group homes located in South Florida.
In September of 2018, HBD opened a new facility for Adult Day Training
located in Hallandale Beach, Florida. HBD was founded in 2002 by five clinicians who each average 15-25 years of experience
in the field of intellectual
and developmental disabilities and are certified clinicians in our respective fields of, Nursing, Medicine and Behavior Analysis.
Our strengths as a team include:
Success in treating severely challenged people who have failed in other settings,
both
institutional and community.
Established contacts in the local behavioral, psychiatric and healthcare communities.
Development of innovative, strength based community living experiences for people in
Broward County.
Our Mission
HBD is committed to helping children and adults with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental illness to receive personalized residential and community experiences. We strive to provide the highest standard of behavioral healthcare and habilitation. We believe people’s needs are best met by first recognizing their strengths and building experiences on these strengths. We believe an integrated and multi-dimensional approach is the most effective way to provide supports. This approach enables people to achieve both a better quality of life and reach their full potential in work, home and social endeavors. We partner with families, the medical community, school and program staff, as well as other local community services to achieve these goals.
Our Vision
Our vision at HBD is to support individuals with special needs in a safe and nurturing environment as they strive to develop competencies in gaining: optimal health, maximum independence, security, competency and experience in making choices and decisions, respect, friendships, competence in life skills, and experiences and enjoyment in participating and contributing to their community.
